About Avenue
Avenue is a private label collection of furniture solutions founded, designed and operated by women.
With support from Insidesource, Avenue product is inspired by the needs of clients and was created to solve challenges that current products on the market don’t support. Each product in this agile collection is designed to consider proportion, aesthetics, durability, price point and lead time.
As a furniture dealership, Insidesource is in a unique position to influence designs and bridge the gap between clients, design and manufacturing partners. We hear the needs of clients, understand the capabilities of our manufacturing partners and find harmony with product design.
About the Designer
Our first collection is designed by our in-house Product Designer, Kayte Compton.
With a background in industrial design, she started at a large, researched based furniture manufacturer. She moved to the dealership world at Insidesource to design product in an agile environment solving fast-paced, real-time problems. Working with a large tech client, she recognized the opportunity to design products to meet the client’s needs, while scaling to meet the needs of the market.
The first Avenue family of product reflects the street names of Kayte’s hometown of Flint, Michigan. Realizing Avenue’s full potential, while understanding the path it would take to reach it, the Avenue pieces pay homage to the roots and continuous evolution of Flint. Kayte’s first design was Nolen, a chair named in honor of the first street that she called home.
Kayte is inspired by people and traveling the world. Future product collections are in the works, we are looking forward to continuing the journey.
